Our Staff
The PTS staff is relatively small but very dedicated, highly experienced, diverse and skilled.
Victoria C. Brown is the President and CEO of Paramedical Training & Services, Inc. She has almost twenty five (25) years of primary care medical practice management experience. She has managed the operations of PTS since its inception in 1993. Vicki prefers most of her work to be done in the background (business management, marketing....) with PTS.
Vicki is the Practice Administrator for the Centennial Medical Group, an eight (8) practitioner primary care medical practice located in Howard County, MD. Vicki has extensive experience in customer service / relations, medical billing, program / process development and implementation and personnel management.
Ken Brown (KB) is the Senior Consultant for Paramedical Training & Services, Inc. He has been involved in emergency medical services since 1970 at age 16. Following a twenty (20) year career with the Howard County Department of Fire and Rescue Services he began his second career in 1993 with PTS. Yes, his wife is his boss - everywhere he goes.
KB is a Nationally Certified Emergency Medical Technician - Paramedic (NREMT-P) and paramedic instructor. He took his initial paramedic training in 1982. He teaches everything from how to take a pulse to how to do an emergency surgical tracheotomy or deliver a baby.
While employed by the fire department he worked some twelve (12) years part time in several Emergency Departments and Medical / Surgical Critical Care Units in the area.
As a result of his extensive hands on emergency medicine experience he is very heavy into curriculum development and program architecture, design and presentation - based on years of real clinical experience. He continues to teach programs through PTS for the Howard County Department of Fire and Rescue Services and the Howard County Public School System.
The Paramedic Pathways Program is one of the programs he dedicates most of his time to. It is a combined effort between the Howard County Public School System and the Howard County Department of Fire and Rescue Services to teach EMT-Basic to qualified high school Seniors. He and a support staff have been very successfully teaching and managing this program since it began in 2003. He also oversees the Howard Community College portion of the Paramedic Pathways Program where these students go on to become Paramedics.
Ken is also the Contracted Clinical Operations Manager for the Centennial Medical Group. There he does clinical personnel and practice management, program development and OSHA / Job Safety Administration. He has also been used a number of times as an expert medical witness in legal cases defending EMT's.
Keith Brown has been teaching for PTS since 2003. His primary focus is on CPR for all groups. He and Michele teach most of our CPR courses. Keith has worked as a clinical assistant and clinical procedure technician since 2001. He is a Certified Bone Densitometry Technician and I.V. Technician. Keith and Ken both have experience in Clinical Research. Keith and Ken are brothers.
Michele Brown has been teaching for PTS since 2003 and her primary focus is CPR as well. Michele's primary occupation now is as a Certified Medical Biller. Prior to that she worked as a clinical assistant for five (5) years gaining hands on clinical experience. She is the mom of two youngsters that keep her busy when she's not working. Michele is Vicki and Ken's daughter in-law.
Jeff Brown has been teaching for PTS since 2003. Prior to a four (4) year stint in the military Jeff worked as a clinical assistant. He now works as a career EMT-I / Firefighter for the Anne Arundel County, MD Fire Department. He also assists regularly with the Paramedic Pathways project. Jeff is into fitness / personal training. Jeff is a single parent for a 13 year old son. Jeff is Vicki and Ken's son.
Nick Brown (Jeff's son) assists with a variety of programs in a support capacity. He is an excellent patient! Though only 13, he is very helpful at times during presentations and has the ability to add a "youthful" touch.
Tim Brown has been teaching for PTS since 2003. He is a career firefighter / EMT for Prince Georges County, MD Fire Department. At the moment Tim is on sabatical from teaching while he cares for his two youngsters when he's not working for the fire department. He'll be back! Tim is also Vicki and Ken's son.
All of our instructional staff (except Nick) are certified through the American Safety and Health Institute© (ASHI).
